Happy 5th Birthday Addi!

The Circus cake

Circus Mania!

Addi's stage!

Addi is always saying I need a new dress, so I put my new dress on to surprise her for her birthday. She was so excited, and I was glad to make her happy.

Addi's perfect breakfast

A new Princess bike!

This girl and her Barbie movies!

Kaden was a bit jealous of Addi's new wheels. She was happy to share.

Daddy took us all to Red Robin (yum!) for lunch. Addi loved when they sang to her and brought her a sundae.

Time for the Circus! Which was AMAZING! And the best part is all the profits benefit the Shriners Children's Hospital of Spokane. Addi loved the clowns and all the animal characters, Kaden LOVED the elephants, and Tony and I loved the stunts and acrobats. It was a perfect day.

After the circus Addi's friend baby Dino and his Mom and Dad came over for cake. They brought Addi a microphone, which happened to go perfect with her new stage.

She is in heaven!

Make a Wish!

Addi had a wonderful day I am sure she will not soon forget, and I am absolutely exhausted! Happy Birthday to my Sweet Pea, Pooh Bear, Princess! Five years ago today really was the greatest day of my life. I became a parent to the most incredible little girl, and it forever changed me for the better. I remember our first night together in the hospital. I stayed up most of the night, sitting in a rocking chair and staring down at the miracle in my arms. I was completely amazed. Five years later and she still amazes me everyday.  I am blessed beyond belief, happy as can be, and looking forward to another year of the Addi Show! ;o)

Go CHIEFS GO!

Yesterday when Tony got to work, there was an envelope on his desk with tickets to the Chiefs Playoff hockey game last night from someone at his corporate office. The tickets were for a private suite, and they were the best hockey tickets I can ever expect to get in my life, so naturally I took a couple pics. At hockey games I am trained to go to the bathroom and get food/drinks just before the period ends to try and beat the long lines. Last night we had our own bathroom, kitchenette, and room for the kids to run and play during the breaks. It was wonderful! I am mentally preparing myself now to make the transition back to the nose bleed seats, and public restroom lines for the next game. ;o)
Boys will be boys! Getting rowdy ;o)

Evidence lingers of the blue suckers Mom and Dad gave them to keep them happy during the game.
They really enjoyed sitting under this table, which was fine by me!

Kaden is catching on to the hockey culture. He appreciates the rowdy nature of the sport. His cousin JJ got him a golf set for his birthday, but he plays hockey with it.

We love you Boomer!
I thought he looked too cute wearing his Daddy's hat :o)

The past two days I have been planning and getting ready for Addi's 5th birthday. My little girl is going to be 5! She is so excited to go to school, and keeps asking her Daddy when he is going to take her to Paris to buy new dresses for herself and her Mom. When Tony said, "I don't think we are going there, you know Paris is in France." she replied, "Oh come on DAD! You know Paris has the best in fashion! I HAVE to go there!"  She never stops talking, ever. If she isn't talking she is singing. Smart, funny, sassy but sweet. She is such an amazing big sister, and I couldn't be prouder of this little girl. We are going to the circus on her birthday so naturally I am attempting to pull off a circus theme at home. Today I spent hours in Toys R Us buying her birthday presents. Toys R Us is such a great store, I could have stayed there all day, and I didn't even have the kids! I couldn't leave without buying something for my Bug too (Kaden) so he scored a sweet T-Rex. We have been having Dino fights for over an hour, and the mighty T-Rex wins every time. :o)

Happy Easter! 2011

Last night we had a fabulous little Easter party. Addi made cupcakes, we dyed eggs, and then we watched Hop.

Dying the eggs
I had to leave the room for a minute, and I really stressed to Addi, "Do not touch the dye. Please." When I came back in the room she instantly chirps up, "Momma! I followed the rules and didn't touch the dye!"
Uh huh. And I replied, "Then why are your fingers purple?" and she answered, "Oh this old purple stuff, why that's my birthmark of course!" :o) Right Addi.

Time for cupcakes!
And then we watched a movie, and relaxed and got ready for bed because the Easter Bunny was on his way!
Luckily he found our house alright. (Addi was a bit concerned because we had moved since last Easter.)

Kaden was up and dressed first, then he woke up his big sister. When he saw his Easter basket he said "Oh Boy!" for the first time and very animated. Every morning when he wakes up he says, "Slept good!" and he has just started telling me "it's ok" when I tell him not to do something.
Wake up!

Celebrate!

It was the perfect day! The kids colored and watched movies while I cooked Easter dinner.

We all went outside and the kids planted their seeds the Easter Bunny left for them.

Addi planted flower seeds

Kaden planted cucumber and sweet peppers.

Enjoying their new bubbles

Easter dinner!
Ham, stuffing, potato salad. bacon garlic green beans

Candied Yams and Pistachio salad

Cheers! We all talked about our favorite part of Easter, and Tony and I shared some of our favorite Easter memories. Addi loves it when we start a story, "When I was your age"....

I love my family! Feeling extra blessed and thankful today.
