Too Cute :o)

Last night Tony and I went out on a nice date. Grabbed a quick bite to eat and then some shopping at our favorite local sporting goods store. We each spoiled ourselves a bit, which is always fun. We stopped at a little bar right by our house and each had a martini,(mine was Mango Tango) and then hit up the grocery store for a few things. As lame as it sounds, it was actually the perfect night out with my husband. Today Tony and Addi are at the theatre watching "How to Train Your Dragon". Addi stated on her way out the door that she was going to get "organic snacks at the theatre because she is trying to be healthy." Yeah right! :o) I am home with Kaden enjoying the peaceful house while he naps. I HAD to take the kids pictures today because I was just dying to see Kaden in his new outfit!! :o) Tony thinks I am nuts and take too many pictures, but I think he will thank me for it someday. Kaden's new picnic table came today and the kids just love it!! Kadens room is definately the new cool hangout! He is shaking his head NO now and he stares you down while he does it. SO funny. And he loves to high five. I am enjoying the old, "You better be good and listen or the Easter Bunny won't stop by our house" Routine. :o) My Dad sure inspired instant attitude adjustments with his psuedo calls to Santa!

Kaden turns ONE!!

Today my baby boy turned one. I am a proud Mom and feel very blessed and thankful for the son I get to love and raise. Kaden went on a nice long walk today and visited a couple of parks to enjoy his special day. As we were walking it was hard to not think about that day, exactly one year ago. I did alot of walking that day as well, and it seemed like my son would never show us his face! My we have all accomplished alot in a year!! Emergency C-Section and recovery from that, breastfeeding and all the round the clock feedings, thousands of diapers, TEETHING!!!, solid foods, first words, first steps. Everyday is something new, and I never forget to thank God for this sweet baby boy he has blessed me with. When we got home we had pizza for dinner and then presents followed by cake and ice cream. Don't ask about his cake! That thing started as a bug and then became a turtle and a frog before it was turned back into some sort of bug. One thing is for sure, alot of love was put into that thing! The ice cream cones are actually cupcakes. He got a giant Elmo balloon that sings Happy Birthday! and enjoyed opening his gifts. After cake he went straight to the tub and then was ready for bed!! :o) Happy Birthday Little Buddy!!! You are one loved little man.

Princess and the Frog

Addi has been counting down the days until her birthday party. When I informed her that you don't have to wait for your birthday to throw a party she was both elated and confused. She proclaimed, "Wooohooooo! Everyday is going to be MY BIRTHDAY!!" No No No. I explained that there are lots of fun things to celebrate, not just birthdays!!! So we threw a "Princess and the Frog" party for Addi and her friends. Afterall, it isn't everyday that there is a new Disney Princess!!!! :o) The kids had fun watching the movie and had pizza and lots of great snacks. I made Princess and the Frog popcorn balls with movie themed rings on top. Addi tells me that she would NEVER KISS A FROG! BUT she wouldn't mind kissing a PRINCE! If you haven't seen the movie, I recommened it for kids of all ages! :o)

Kaden :o)

Kaden is lovin his life on the move. Whenever Mom and Dad leave the room he likes to climb by anymeans possible onto the highest obtainable platform. He especially likes coffee tables and climbing into the living room window sill, giving his mother a heart attack everytime. He likes to walk, but not when we WANT him to. It has to be his idea. I have seen him take atleast ten steps in a row but everytime I try to film him walking he stops and poses for the camera. The baby LOVES to get his picture taken. :o) The weather has been nice and the kids have been having a great time playing outside. Kaden of course wants in on the fun and I put him out in his walker. He loves running up and down the driveway. He even enjoys playing hoops with the big boys! :o) My little man is so adorable.

Happy Birthday Tony! 27

We spent the last weekend celebrating Tony's 27th birthday. When he told me he took the weekend off I was excited and the wheels started turning. I thought we could drive to Oregon, Washington or Montana and spend the weekend doing fun stuff and seeing new sights. But that is exactly the opposite of what he had in mind, and since it was his birthday I let him win :o) His idea of a perfect weekend involved pretty much 24 hour video gaming. I thought I would take him out for a nice dinner but he preferred I cook. Alright. If you want to stay home and be boring, then I will oblige. :o)I hauled his favorite gaming chair downstairs and plopped it down right in front of the tv. I then got a table and placed it right next to him. I did my best to keep the kids out of his hair, and kept the table stocked with anything he might want. Happy Birthday Sweetie. He was able to play games with his best friend in Poky and also his brother in Oregon thanks to online gaming technology. He even had a few friends stop by and play with him at the house. I guess the Xbox cake I made him really was perfect for this birthday. Addi insisted on buying him flowers and a balloon. She really wanted to get him a Princess and the Frog balloon but decided on a SuperMan one in the end with some reasoning assistance from Mom. We wrapped his present in some of Addi's artwork. Being as Tony's birthday is in March it has become tradition to eat Irish food for his birthday. We have been eating a steady diet of cabbage! I made the best corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, Rueben Sandwiches, and our favorite pizza: souerkraut, linguisa sausage, onion and mustard. Last month for Mardi Gras we ate Jambalaya, Gumbo, crab cakes, spicy tuna cakes, and some delicious pasteries. And now NEXT month we get to look forward to all the delicious Easter food!! :o) On Monday I made Tony leave the house and walk to the park. I told him his skin was so pale it was hurting my eyes to look at him :o)He actually ran the entire way home from the park and then the kids were asking him why he was being wierd and breathing so hard. He told me that he very much enjoyed his birthday weekend, so that makes me a happy wife.
