An Absolute PERFECT Weekend!

To kick off our weekend, Addi lost her very first tooth! Tony tugged it out for her, and I was thankful it wasn't me! Good job Dad! Addi was very proud and excited for a visit from the Tooth Fairy.
It seems like yesterday that our baby girl was cutting these teeth, and now they are falling out making room for her grown up teeth. Life goes by too fast, but we do our best to savor every little moment.
I made her a "Tooth Pillow" just in time! It made it easy for the Tooth Fairy to find her tooth! Addi said she didn't see the Tooth Fairy, but she DID see twinkling lights in her room! :o) The Tooth Fairy left her a nice note, written in glitter puff paint, and Addi was so very impressed with her excellent penmanship! She also received a dollar and a quarter.

Addi and I watched musicals and had pedicures. She said, "That was SO awesome Mom! Tomorrow, let's dye our hair!" Ohhhhhh boy! I don't think so! :o)

Addi had her very first "Away" game of her life. And wouldn't you know, we woke up to 4+ inches of snow. It didn't stop snowing all day. Thanks to her Daddy's great driving, 4wheel drive, and good tires we had no problems getting around. She played great, along with the rest of the Wild Cats!

After the game Daddy wanted to show off his family, so we went to his store and had brunch. The snow kept coming down! We enjoyed some delicious omelets, fresh fruit, muffins, and freshly squeezed juice. It really hit the spot.
At Tony's store I picked up some beautiful flowers and we headed to my Grandparents house to deliver them. They were happy to see us, even though they didn't like us driving in the winter storm. I always enjoy every second of their company.
We left my Grandparents and went to my cousins to drop off the kids. Then we went to the McCarthy Athletic Center for a Gonzaga basketball game. WHAT A GAME! The Zags won, and took home the WCC Championship!!! AMAZING! We had SO MUCH FUN! Not to mention they were box seats! We were invited by Nicki, and her husband Tim. Nicki and Tim are awesome! I am looking forward to hanging out with them again. Nicki and her little sister Mandi grew up with Tony in a small town. Later, I met Mandi, when we were both in college and pledged the same sorority. She introduced Tony and I, and the rest is history as we know it! Otherwise known as "Shaffer Family History"! :o)

Zags WIN! WCC CHAMPS!!!

The next day we took the kids to a movie, then came home and played in the snow all afternoon
It was NOT EASY making that giant snow man. But totally worth it! :o)

Wild Cats!

The Wild Cats played their 4th game this Saturday. Daddy was able to come watch Addi play and gave her some shooting pointers while she warmed up.

We have so much fun watching these kids play and improve week by week.

We only have 2 more games and four more practices this season and then Basketball will come to an end. Don't worry, Addi is really looking forward to Spring Soccer, followed by her very first season of T-ball. :o)

A Girls Day, and Addi's wobbly tooth :o)

Yesterday Addi and I left the boys at home and spent the day together. It was so nice to enjoy some one on one time. We went to see a movie. It was nice to not have to wrangle my two year old the entire time. I got to relax, watch the movie and Addi cuddled up beside me. Afterwards we went out for lunch. We watched a Womens NCAA basketball game that was on tv and we talked about basketball. She played a dollars worth of quarters in the pin ball machine, and she is getting so good she really made it last! We did a little shopping and came home so she could work on her Valentines for her classmates. We finished the night by reading. Addi is getting better at reading daily, and I couldn't be more excited or proud. We say there are three ways to become a better reader: 1. Read 2. Read 3. Read! She started by reading 20 minutes at a time, and now she easily can sit and read for over an hour. There was one book I delibrately had her read, "My wobbly tooth must never ever fall out". Two days ago I noticed Addi had her very first loose tooth, but when I mentioned it to her she had A LOT of anxiety about it, so then I ended up telling her I was just kidding, her tooth wasn't falling out so she would go to sleep. After reading this book she went to brush her teeth and noticed she did in fact have a wobbly tooth, but this time she was very excited about it. Today is her sharing day at school, and she is sharing that book, along with her very own wobbly tooth! :o)

Last night we met some of our college friends at Chuck E. Cheese and had fun with our kids. When we told Addi that we had something fun planned, she screamed and said, "Are we going to a Gonzaga basketball game?" We laughed and said no, but we wish that was the surprise! Luckily she was still excited to hear she was headed to Chuck E. Cheese. We must have had fun because we all overslept this morning and had to hustle to get to Addi's basketball game this morning. The Wild Cats are showing improvement and learning to work together as a team. They are scoring more points and passing the ball around. Addi was a rebounding machine in this mornings game, and we are very proud of her hard work and hustle! Keep it up Wild Cats!
